The Yueju Opera Art Center in Shengzhou, a city under Shaoxing in Zhejiang province, hosted a special Mid-Autumn concert featuring both celebrated masters and young talents from the region on the evening of Oct 10.

Performers from multiple troupes took the stage, sharing stories of home and delighting audiences with a vibrant display of Yueju Opera.

Several renowned performers, including winners of the prestigious China Theater Plum Blossom Award, presented signature pieces that energized the theater.

Young actors also took the spotlight. Shengzhou Yueju Opera Troupe's Ying Jiamei performed a solo scene, earning enthusiastic applause for her solid technique. Twin sisters Chen Zixin and Chen Kexin performed together, impressing the audience with their confident stage presence. These emerging talents brought energy and freshness to the performances, showcasing the vitality of Yueju Opera's next generation.

In recent years, Shaoxing has promoted innovation in Yueju Opera, hosting nationwide competitions, producing Yueju Opera films, and introducing interactive cultural performances, which help attract younger audiences and nurture a lively new wave of performers.
